The Washington State Destination Imagination tournament was held yesterday. Both Calob & Callie qualified with their teams for the state tournament in Wenatchee. It was quite a drive and we hit some snow & ice on our drive over. We stopped in Leavenworth for a bit to have lunch & check out some of the local shops. The other 2 years we had been to the state tournament the weather was great ... not so much this year. ☺ The tournament itself was run VERY well & everyone seemed very prepared & kept things running smoothly. Calob's team did FANTASTIC! They definitely improved over their performance at regional's and really made us proud. Callie's team did FANTASTIC as well & made huge strides in their instant challenge. Overall, while the day was SUPER long and exhausting, it was well worth it. Calob's team took 3rd in the state which is the same place he took last year & absolutely wonderful! It's SO exciting ... especially because his team has had problems working well together & respecting each other and this shows they have overcome that. Callie's team took 1st place ... yes, FIRST PLACE in the state which qualifies them for the Global finals in Knoxville, Tennessee, held Memorial Day weekend. Holy smokes, that's a big, fat deal for sure! I'm so proud ... both of my kids did BRILLIANTLY and have really impressed us. Congratulations Calob & Callie!!!
