Author's Celebration ~ Callie

Last Friday Callie's class held an author's celebration for the students. Soon after the school year started the kids started working on stories ... stories that were supposed to show some kind of feeling. Any kind of feeling. We were invited to come to the class & the kids would read their stories to their families and fellow students in small groups. Callie's story is about something that happened in 2nd grade. It's funny, she mentions me in the story but I was actually SUPER sick that week ... seriously. I don't remember a whole lot of that week other than laying in bed and lots of pain ... LOTS of pain! Luckily we had taken care of her Valentine's the week before or else they might not have gotten done at all. Anyway ... it was a nice little bit of recognition for these kids and all the hard work they've done for their stories. I know the stories might not look like much, but well, they are. So there. :)

I did the display ... looks good, huh? :)
Her story ... I don't think you can click on it to make it bigger but if you want to read it, let me know & I'll email it to you.

On a completely unrelated note ... remember the stray kitty? Have I mentioned that we now know her name? It's Carrie. She lives on the corner, across the alley from us. She still comes to visit but now that the weather is colder & wetter, we don't see her as often. She frequently hangs out under the truck across the alley from us. This weekend I looked out back & saw her on top of the truck ... I guess that's another way to go. lol

I can't click to make the picture be bigger. :(

However, that is the most awesome display case in the history of display cases! You obviously have some untapped talent there, missy!

Good for Callie! It's always nice to be able to read your work out loud for everyone to hear.

I loved author celebrations...I think I did two the year I student taught...the kids get so excited and work so much harder when they know they will be sharing. I would LOVE to read it! :)
