Close but no cigar!

We are back from the State Chess Championships & while Calob didn't come away with the Championship, he did great & we're so proud of him. He won 3 of 5 games. The 2 boys who beat him both had higher ratings (one was over 300 points higher than Calob) so if you're going to lose, you want to lose to better players. Then again, you don't want to lose at all, but if you do ... well, you know. Calob was bummed but knows how well he did. Congrats on another great year of chess Calob!!!

This is how most of the day was spent ... playing video games
Before his first game, which he won
After his last game, which he lost

With his trophy
We spent Saturday night at Uncle Gerald & Uncle Brian's house. Callie helped Uncle Brian make pancakes on Sunday morning.
Uncle Gerald shopping for "treats" for us
More shopping

Hope you got enough 'treats' to last you awhile. Did he use all the ones from last time...I really want T to make me something with the black stuff...just to try. :}

Congrats Calob! You're the highest ranking chess player in Washington that I know, so that makes you the champ as far as I'm concerned!

How were those pancakes that Callie was slaving over? Did you save any for me???? I love pancakes!
